Hi! I am so glad I have found this blog! I have dreamed of backpacking asia and finallly booked my ticket to thailand, leaving the 7th of august. Im so excited but people keep telling me that I wont be safe on my own, reading your articles has seriously put my mind at ease so much.

Do you need a bachelor degree as well as a TESOL certificate to work as a TESOL teacher in asia?

    • Hey Katie ๐Ÿ™‚
So happy for you ! Thailand is seriously amazing ! Yes, just a bachelors degree in any field and a TESOL .. 3. Hey Jasmine,

I’m ECD at a content marketing agency in Sydney called Edge.

Just putting together the framework of an idea for a client of mine.

What would you charge us to stay at an AirBnB location (wherever you are currently) and broadcast on a specific (branded) Periscope channel about your stay and your surrounds (eg. the home, the quirks of the place, the location, the sights). Minimum of 3 broadcasts lasting 15-30 minutes within a 24 hour period.

Cheers! Call me back in Sydney if easier. +61 416 007 115

    Hello Jasmine,

I’m from Belgium, a thirty-something girl who also loves travelling.
I’d like to thank you for your wonderful webiste full of very useful informations. I discovered it when I was looking for information about Chang Mai (I’m going to Thailand next month) and it was such a good surprise !
I work full time but have quite a lot of holidays, so it allows me to discover the world. I’ve been to Australia 3 times, and oooooh I’m in love with this country ! I also went to Indonesia, Hong Kong, Canada, USA, Morocco, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, UK, Spain, France, etc…
If you ever go to Belgium and need informations or company, I’d be happy to help or have a drink (we have great chocolates, waffles and beers if you like these).
So, go on with travelling and with your great videos, facebook page and website !

We are creating a travel community for travelers wanting to share their experiences and itineraries in particular. We hope other travelers can learn from our experiences and also take the route we have taken.

We looked through your blog and thought you have one of the best travel blogs! You also have a very unique experience you can offer other travelers.

In our community, you can share experiences that are destination based but you can also upload a more detailed itinerary which you can charge for. We understand it does cost for travelers to explore the world, so if other travelers are willing to pay a token amount to read and download something very useful to them then why not!

    Hi Jasmine,

I am very impressed by your videos about Hong Kong. I was born and raised in Hong Kong for more than twenty years before immigrating to the United States. I have been looking for many youtube videos about my birthplaces recently. And I find that your perspective about this city is really inspiring. They reveal the truth about what the city is like and why the city is special. It’s not about the buildings, tourist attractions or shopping malls. It’s about the people living there and how they drive the place. It’s the people that make a place special and unique.

Anyway, I saw some of the your videos. I know you may be moving out soon, but if you still have a chance, there are several places that you may still want to take a look before going.

    1. In Wan Chai, you visited the Wan Chai Market. In one of the stores that sells eggs with the “egg pyramid”. They actually still used the very traditional way to sell eggs to the customers without using a plastic bag. They used several papers that wrap around the eggs as a tetrahedron. I saw it once around 12 years ago. I am not sure if the store still uses the same to way handle eggs, but maybe it’s worth a walk. As far as I know, it’s the last place in Hong Kong that uses this method at that time.

    2. In Wan Chai, there is a toy street. They sell toys around 50-80 years old. I bet you may have visited that part already.

    3. There are actually a lot of vegetarian food in Hong Kong, but they are not Western styles. So it may not be easy for you to know which restaurants are vegetarian. And if you are straightly vegan, it will be even harder to order, but there are still many choices.

    4. There is a biking route from Shatin to Taipo. It’s popular among locals. You can rent a bike for a day from Shatin. It takes around two hours for a round trip, but you can enjoy the beautiful scenes there.

    5. Swimming is cheap there! Public swimming pool is everywhere. It’s super expensive and inconvenient in the United States.

Anyway, keep up your hard work. Good luck on the road!

    • Hi Kai ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks so much, yes i absolutely love hong Kongers, the markets, the market stall people.. everyone here ! people are so honest and friendly ! its my favourite place in the world !

Loving reading your thoughts on Vietnam! I just wondered where abouts your bought your day trip to Halong Bay. I realise there’s tons on offer, but I’m keen to go on one that is legit and I know will take me back to the hotel.. I’m not too fussed about the food so your one would be perfect for me.

    • hey rebecca… i think they are all legit.. i dont think any of the travel agent stores in the tourist area would rip you off.. as you can just go back there and complain ๐Ÿ™‚ I just walking into one with other travellers in there, and with signs about prices and tours out the front.. im sure you will be fine ๐Ÿ™‚
